Dark Templar List of Known Issues

August 19th, 2008 by warhammergold

c. Unholy Strength - Mind Wreck and Mind Shatter are not listed in the tool tip. Are they not considered combos, or just not listed?

I have enough free time to keep this updated on a daily basis. It will take an effort from everyone to keep this list fresh and on the front page until it is a sticky. Thanks to all Dark Templars who have contributed either directly or through posts of their own.

18. The health Tap (magical) effect of imp aura of dread fury works with all unholy dmg except Touch of Death, which deals magical unholy damage…

8. Anticipation is not adding bonus damage as stated it should in tool-tip.

13. Spells still showing in Spell List after a age of conan gold respec of feats Some spells (Cov of Arms, Soul Barrier) will still show in the friendly list of spells after intially putting feat points into them and later on during a respec not putting points in that specific feat. Feat is unable to be used, but still showing in the list.

6. Animation Clippings and Stances Freezing Lower Body Animation when engaged. - See 6-02-08 Patch Notes.

20. Sadistic Soul (DT pulsing AoE when Sadism Counter = 10) This is working but will transfer if in a group and another member affects you with sadism after your sadism counter reaches max (10 or less if feated), the person that affects you with sadism will get the sadistic soul buff. The only way to get sadistic soul back onto the DT is to get a sadism counter on yourself (IE: ritualistic bloodshed/masochism).

7. Charge is costing a percentage of our Stamina when used. Is this intended? - It seems that using the charge skill at times will drain a percentage of our stamina.

While not a bug per say, many of the feats in the Dark Templar tree are positioned badly. For Example: Having to improve Cov of Pestilence in order to get Cov of Putrescence which is needed to get Dooming Presence. While it is understood these feats are related, one shouldn’t have to choose both pestilence and putrescence for Dooming Presence. improving pestilence should be up in the tree closer to Cov of Arms for improvement.

2. Multi-tiered Feats not providing proper benefits once more then one Feat point is added in. - Surging Health, Invulnerable Soul, , Blood Frenzy, Blighted Soul, and Corrupt Weapons are some of the feats reported with this bug.

15. Various Covenant’s damage not showing in combat log. Cov of Veng (the unholy damage)and Cov of War(damage shield damage) do not appear to be displaying damage in the combag log

4. Leech Life V has a higher stamina cost then Leech Life VI.

Borrowed some from the Guardian List as age of conan gold they also share the Solider Tree with us and so these skills also affect the DT class.

In the spirit of what KieraTaer has done for the Guardian Class and what others are attempting to do on our own forums I think it would be good to have one list of compiled bugs for the Dark Templar class.

3. Stance Lock up - Changing stances can sometimes completely lock up your UI preventing you from doing anything. Your only option is to force quit and restart.

19. Soul for a Feast When used has two icons, one over the target, and one over the player and team. Players and teams have this as a buff on their buff list and will steal life for the duration of the buff, but the mobs do not show a debuff over their target window. Why put a graphic effect on an opponent that isn’t getting a debuff? None of our other abilities with debuffs get extra graphical effects.

1. Counter Strike Stance Not Providing Reflective Damage past Tier 2. (See 5-27-08 Patch Notes.)

1. Charge has many issues. - Passing Through the Target, Character Lock-up and Invalidating Follow-up Combos are being reported.

3. ‘Mystical Bane’ combo: (See 6-9-08 Patch Notes)The damage dealt by the Incinerate Ether component of Mystical Bane combos will now correctly deal 50% of the mana burned to be consistent with other power burn effects.

7. Cunning Deflection doesn’t always proc it’s damage effect. - Stealth Resolved with 6-12-08 Patch

22. Rite of Blood When swimming or mounted this spell once cast only gives the initial Stamina hit, the Stamina over Time hits do not show in combat log or through the stamina bar.

14. Tooltips display incorrect information. This is across multiple skills.

Start of Fixed Issues List

5. Martyrdom doesn’t scale from rank 4 to rank 5 except for a lower health cost.

b. Incinerate Ether - the tool tip is wrong, or the skills are not working as intended. Incinerate Ether tool tip needs to be edited now.

5. Warping at the end of a Charge. - Resolved Internally and on Release. Fixed on Release of 6-09-08 Patch.

(See Post #14)Rite of Blood doesn’t scale correctly either

21. Sadism counters increases the damage you take from Martyrdom. 10/10 counters increases the damage to cast the spell by 12%.

11. Both Malacodor feats cost 2x the health they state & bonus is sub-par.

17. Air of Death not showing damage in combat log Touch of Death also will not cause any damage when using it.

8. June 2 Buff Patch Bugs. - Resolved with 6-09-08 Patch.

2. Feat - the Dread Shadow pet will successfully spawn again. Requires use of A Soul for Our Feast IV (level 80) (See 5-27-08 Patch Notes)

12. Soul Barrier takes away the max mana per hit regardless of the amount of incoming damage. Scaling of ability doesn’t seem to be working as well

23. Female Avatar Attack Speed is different then Male Attack Speed - Some reports also indicate they hit for less then their Male counterparts.

End Of List

Start of Reported Issues List

4. Goad and Goad Mob - Fixed (see 6-16-08 patch notes)

6. Instant Skills not firing off properly. - When in a charge, the middle of a combo, or stunned/knocked back if an Instant skill is used it will have a cool down but not give the result. warhammer gold Volcanic Rage is still being reported as of 5-29-08.

9. Lifesaver Diminishing Rate of Regeneration. - The tool tip shows a constant decline in the rate of regeneration of health until refreshed by a new application of the skill.

End of List

Let’s keep this thread free of flames and whines. I would like to have a compiled list of known bugs and if possible how to recreate the bugs. If a tool tip or feat does not work as intended, let’s get it listed, along with some parsed combat logs to back the data up.

16. Covenant of Pestilence Rank 1 and Rank 2 have same damage tool-tip tooltip damage doesn’t change, will test for actual damage change

a. Improved Dread Fury - feated fully with 5 points shows 250% when in actuality it is only 2.5%

10. Dread Shadow only works with A Soul for Our Feast IV Requires the use of a level 80 combo(A Soul For our Feast IV), but the feat can be reached at level 70. Can it be changed to work with A Soul for Our Feast III. (Assuming that lower level combos of the same name are not sharing a cool down)

Once you are at this point you cannot move much father down into the fire tree because of the level limitation so now would be a good time to go back into the general tree and get some things that should help you level.

Early on damage isn’t as important as downtime. All classes are fairly powerful at lower levels, you will want to be able to spam your spells and just grind quickly. Not a fun first pick but neccesarry

http://www.gamingrepublic.org/uploads/demo/splash1.jpg

Greater Flames is a really nice spell. Especially for grinding. Most the time, a Greater flames, Detonation, and 1 FoG you can have a dead mob on your hands. With devouring flames you have spent little mana, you have one mob down doing AoE damage, and you now have two amassed flames buffs. This is a recipe for chain killing like you’ve never witnessed a demo do before.

Since the recent patch this has been improved. Extra DoT damage is always nice and at the higher end of the leveling grind this spell becomes more potent. It’s also really the best choice based on everything else available.

Let Them Burn-Possibly one of the most OP spells in the game when used correctly, Let them burn is a PvP and PvE beast. A channeled nuker with an 8m radius effect, this spell is somewhat situational coupled with a 40s cooldown. This baby is most effective when taking 3+ mobs from max distance and usually they are about dead by the time they reach you. In PvP, this spell has no visible tracer (allows players to see where the spell came from) so if you can manage to hit the healer with this spell and let it do work, your team will be in for some easy hunting.

Next 2—Combustion

Devouring flames is possibly the single most underrated feat point that you could spend. In solo and group pulls, it does a really nice amount of damage. It does work and I can consistently get a good 1-2K AoE damage from dead bodies in big pulls. This is basically free damage, no mana cost to add it to the fight and it always hits when lingering flames is active. It’s an amazing passive quality.

Next 3—Demonic War—Unholy Hate

Living Firestorm is a very cool AoE that is a must if you go down the fire tree. This spell is very potent although it has a fairly hefty cooldown, no spamming this one, but it’s very effective.

Demonic war is a pretty neat party buff and is our little contribution to the fight, but really the reason you want to go here is to get Unholy Hate. The spell is always up, it’s instant cast, and it’s a 10% damage increase. The spell needs to have its duration increased though to make it a bit more useful than 1-2 spell situational, but again, your options are limited at this point.

Next 5—Fluidic Fires

I picked Spiritual Armament because I believe that it does more than just lower my melee/ranged damage by 3%. The tooltips need to be written so we know what the hell is going on, but I have heard rumors that this also decreases crit chance against you. The majority of the Mobs in this game seem to be melee. Our DPS is so high that we can burn out cloth quickly enough, it’s the ranger with his massive damage that I want to defend against. This may change in the guide later on and but it is what I play currently.

Next 5—Lingering Flames

Important: When you turn Level 50. Get Greater Flames

Makes you more powerful the longer you cast. Very important for long fights, pulls, and really nice once you are in a group. A spell like FoG which has a 2 second cast, this maxes out very quickly in longer fights and is definitely beneficial.

Next 13*–Flame Body is required to eventually take let them burn warhammer gold , however, the spell itself is a really nice chunk of +fire damage. A 10s duration on a 35s timer is decent. My only complaint is that with such a short duration, it really should be instant cast.

Detonation is a fairly gimmicky spell that actually has a lot of uses. In big groups I have seen this hit for massive amounts of splash damage. When used on minions with devouring flames you can get a nice burst instant kill, a body burning for AoE, and hit 3 mobs for the equivalent of 1 FoG each. A very nice spell.

Next 5—Deeper Fires

I am skipping Improved Waves of Flame because I feel that spell is too weak considering the mana cost and the fact that you have to stand there and take damage without actively making decisions. This is a group spell, not a solo spell in my opinion. I believe it’s much better to take mobs down in rapid succession than to take them down at the same time age of conan gold . As you take mobs down quickly you take less damage over time, where is if you are taking 5 mobs down at the same time, you are taking the same amount of damage the whole time. You will die faster and you will need to rest after every fight. Black Ashes is another one of those feats that just doesn’t cut it.

Next 3—Devouring Flames—Living Firestorm—Detonation

Archmage really isn’t that useful as a fire mage because why would you want to augment lightning if you never use it? Well, we have this spell called shock that is instant cast on an 8 second timer. I’m a huge fan of anything that can increase my burst damage. Without archmage, the spell is worthless in PvE and nearly worthless in PvP (Sub 100 damage). The 5 points is worth it, especially when you can 1-shot people with Greater Flames, Flame Body, Tomb of Erlik, Unholy Hate, and 2 instant cast spells, hellfire stream and shock.

Next 5—Pyromancer

Improved Amher

Your first step into fire! Congrats.

Next 16—Archmage—Mystical Attunement—Spiritual Armament

Hellfire stream is too weak a spell at low levels to justify investing points to increase its damage radius. Consume flames is a waste of 3 feat points if you are not raiding. With fatalities and skill points, you should never ever really run out of mana before you run out of health. The only time in my leveling experience where I ran out of mana was on the 20th kill of a big pull with a priest or in an instance on a boss. If you need more mana regen later in the game, you can always respec. Demonic Frezy is a really bad joke. Splash damage from our pet, please.

Next 2—Amassed Flames

Expansion on Greater Flames

Benefits of Devouring Flames in Mid-60’s

To be a good conflagration, you will depend heavily on your splash damage when in larger fights. This is an important feat. You can choose to get this first over Pyromancer, but I’m sure most of you will want more damage sooner than more splash damage.

Phase Out-If you aren’t already using Planar Shift on a regular basis in PvE and PvP then you are really missing out on a great spell. 2 Points in Phase Out augments that phase shift spell by adding damage deflection and evade chance, while also reducing cast time to .5 seconds. Check Below to see tips on how to use Phase Shift to it’s full potential.

My Build

Feat Leveling Guide

*If you want another CC then you may want to go down and get gates of hell a bit earlier. It’s up to you though, depends on your playstyle.

First 5 –Mage Blood

Mystical Attunement is a no brainer. Damage is more important than survivability considering the augmentations to Protection of Set are garbage. I would rather have +50 added to my base damage than have an extra 80 hp. This also increases your both your instant cast damage spells so it’s really worth it.

I actually didn’t realize the benefit of two instant cast spells until I experimented with this feat. Once you have more + fire damage and more buffs like Curse of Hell, this spell becomes a nice addition to your arsenal. 2 Points well spent. This spell is especially nice for PvP to get in that extra burst at the end of a FoG to take down players quick. With a 3s recast time, this spell is ready to go after every other FoG.

Gate of Hell - This spell is a must for PvP, it’s an AoE CC that does a huge amount of damage on a fairly short cooldown. Combine this with the fact that it’s VERY visibile, and locks players from turning. Use this to get the rear angle on the offensive, or to mass target a player for your PvP Crew. Nothing says kill the healer like a giant monolith AoE CC.

No Explanation Needed

Set’s Chosen is the next feat that you should acquire. I felt that it might be a crappy feat to endure in order to get let them burn, however I was pleasantly surprised to see that it cuts the damage from pact with set nearly in half (various tests have shown me that damage taken varies, but seems to be at 50% reduction with 5 feat points). This now makes pact with set and bloody pact with set MUCH more viable. Before even with group healing it was a high price to pay, but I feel that Pact with Set coupled with a priest or a potion is now going to be a formidable combo. I will update as I test in PvP and PvE more.

I choose to skip Field of Fires because I just can’t justify 3 feat points so that a very small damage effect can remain active. We kill things too fast for a lingering flames AoE effect to really do anything noticeable. Your points are best spent elsewhere.

Default Lashkor Presents: How to RoX their SoX with your HoX!

August 6th, 2008 by warhammergold

3/3 Fury of Xotli: A PvE wonderchild, really helps out your mana bar by removing the cost of at least 50% of the HFBs you do. Helps sometimes in PvP too, where I go through my mana very fast.

3/3 Burning Words: DoT to root? I think so! Mostly I couldn’t find anything better to put my points into.

5/5 Flame Tongue: This feat is crap. Horrible. At my level 5 stacks gives about +30 Fire damage to melee. It lasts about 8 seconds, so you basically hav to spam HFB to keep it up. We have it for one reason.

5/5 Imp Fiery Weapons: More damage for your procs, another no brainer to have, and far better than Spreading Flames.

Step 2: Root them all. There may be some fly aways, let them beat on you while you cast HFB for initial damage.

1/1 Undying Glory of Xotli: While I wish I didn’t have to cast the buff because it’s annoying, it’s still helpful in soem situations so you don’t have to run back to your grind spots. Just sit dead until your potion/De cds are up so you can insure you survive if you’re around mobs.

3/3 Rage of Xotli: Personally, I’m a big fan of Hell Strikes. It’s really mostly all I use in PvE, so I wanted this build to implement some of teh good things of PvE while having the best of PvP, and I’m not a huge fan of Pillar of Flame, because to me it’s hitbox seems to suck. So I went Hellstrikes instead, I think it provides more utility, while also holding it’s own in PvP.

5/5 Butcher: Again, PvE.

3/3 Flame of Xotli: You’ll read a lot of posts from 80s telling you that BtD sucks at later levels and I can assure this is not the case. Ys, the casting animation is slow, I won’t lie, but the DoT ticks for 400-500. To me, this combo is my opener against tanks and healers. See ‘PvP’ for details.

Explanation: http://forums.ageofconan.com/showpos…0&postcount=90

But, on to the Herald.

1/1 Blood Pit: I got this because of my current grinding spot, and I’ll probably kep it. 200+ Health regen at my level is very good, and it spawns quite often.

UPDATE: New Proposed Feat build: http://www.conanarmory.com/feat.aspx…fefe3f3ef9ef16

The Herald in PvE

2/2 Wrath of Xotli: A 50% damage increaser to Demons form DoT that works on Avatars insanely high damage already is a must have. Great for PvE and PvP, get damage where you can.

3/3 Horrible Visage of Xotli: The bread and butter of a PvP build, and amazing for PvE as well. If I had a silver for the amount of times HVoX has saved my life I could buy my own guild city. The stun lasts a good 5 seconds. Enough time for most combos.

Step 3: Cast DE to activate HVoX (Or Avatar, your choice.) and stun the group. Cast HFB again for more damage.

Explanation: http://forums.ageofconan.com/showpos…&postcount=125

5/5 Hellfire: This one’s really a no brainer, I’m pretty sure that every HoX can agree it’s imperatitve you have this feat.

5/5 Demonic Leech: More mana back from BaSW is a ‘yes’ for PvE mostly. The mana gain is huge, shouldn’t be ignored, and provides more bang for your buck than anything else you can pick.

So, the Herald is very susceptible to CC and you’ll die a lot from getting chain KDed in this area, and probably any other area with large groups that KD. But if you execute perfectly these manuvers, you will survive.

If you take a good look at the feats you’ll notice it’s a very PvP oriented spec, however it also performs well in PvE. Lets go over the feats, and why we have them:

I’ve been solo farming the East ruins in Keshatta warhammer gold since level 72. I’ve died a lot, I’m not going to lie, but I’ve been leveling like crazy. Yeas, the Herald can effectively handle large groups of mobs. And, I’ll tell you how. Keep in mind this is more focused around level 74, where you can have Aox, HVoX and Molten Flesh. You can probably get them sooner, I think, but this is how I specced.

You don’t take a ton of damage, but sometimes you might get KDed before you get WoC off, if this happens, spam potion and WoC and hope for the best. Mobs can chain KD, and it sucks, you’ll die. Oh well. It’s a short run. Shorter if you have UGoX up. One of the reasons this is so effective at farming is because of Molten Flesh. This ability is fairly lackluster by itself, except for a few things:

5/5 Desecration: A minute and a half CD on DE? Yes. Yes. YES.

-It gets +Fire Damage from Demon Form. Avatared Molten Flesh hits for about 200.

So, having said all this, HoXs are one of the best solo AoE grinders in the game. I actually got paid for allowing a ranger to group with me since they XP so slowly. As soon as you can learn to AoE grind. I was getting 9-10 chain kills by myself with this strat. ven with DE and AoX down you can still effectively take smaller groups with HFB, HS, whatever. I use WoC a lot in PvE as well to set up combos outside of combat to maximize my damage deal and minimize mine taken.

1/1 Fire Lance: Even if it got nerfed, I’ll still use it. It still serves a purpose as a high burst damage attack. The reduction to 3 attack combo means I can EoX bfore the final hit more reliably.

My end Feat build: http://www.conanarmory.com/feat.aspx…fefe3f3e2fef23

-It’s an AoE. Yes, and AoE. If 10 guys are hitting you, then 10 guys gt hit age of conan gold back for each person who attacked. So, in their 1 attack, assuming Molten Flesh retaliates every hit, and I haven’t confirmed this, you’re looking at them getting hit 10 times each. (It’s more like 7-8, I’m pretty sure.) But basically, they fall over and die.

This is all I’m going to cover for now, I’ll be posting about the HoX in raids as soon as I’m able to do them, hopfully have a good rotation down, but I can guess my Rotation is going to follow a fairly simple pattern: MSS -> HS -> BaSW, while spamming HFB. Perhaps I’ll be able to fit in BtD as well. Since I have points in Butcher, I want to maximize it’s use.

Hi, I’m Lashkor, the Self proclaimed Demon King of Bluesteel. You may remember from such threads as, ‘Concerns about the Herald,’ and ‘My Demon Form is a Soccer playing Swamp Predator.’

3/3 Mindless Brute: Large gain at little cost, a must have.

2/2 Molten Flesh: Many people will tell you this sucks, and I disagree, so much. I’ll explain why in my ‘PvE’ section of playing a Herald.

2/2 Reaching Flames: The reason I got this is because to be PoF has a really wonky hitbox. Taking this helps to insure I actually hit the person and has great PvE functionality as well.

Possesion

Avatar

3/3 Roots in Hell: Da plane boss, da plane! (Sorry, I was tyring to distract you from how much this feat needs fixing.)

Step 1: Sprint along the edge of mob groups until you have the size of the group you want. Usually I pull about 10-12, and sometimes 20 mobs. Get them as close together as you can.

3/3 Demonic Link: Another stunning feat near doubling the damage dealt in Demon and Avatar forms. There is no reason not to have this.

- .5 second cast, NO MANA COST. It’s totally free for you to use. I am all about free fast casting spells. Especially effective ones.

1/1 Avatar of Xotli: Avatar makes dead babies cry. Some people will tell you not to get it, it’s cookie cutter! So what, the other 70 feats suck, and so do the feats leading up to them. This line is really the best for PvP and PvE, hands down. If you wanted an IWIN button, Avatar is this button.

UPDATE, Raid Build: http://www.conanarmory.com/feat.aspx…2e2fef13efef14

1/1 Renewed Exultation of Xotli: Some people say this sucks, I disagree. As it is now I use EoX a ton. At my level it’s a +30% damage increase! The downfall is only -20%, and I can kill a pull in 10 seconds, easy.

5/5 Demon Within: 37 seconds of Demon Form even if it isn’t AoX (Even though not bing in AoX makes me want to cry a little inside.) is amazing. Get it. Why? Because you have to.

The Herald is a power class at high levels. Early in the game it suffers from some issues though, in that it has very limited ability to control anything, and without upgrades to skills its damage flounders. Many people quit their Heralds before getting past this point, but some don’t. Now, on with the show!

2/2 Improved WoC: Amazing feat to be honest, and also I don’t know if it’s the feat or the fact that I’ve leveled up but WoC rarely ever breaks on damage anymore, making this an amazing thing to have, and WoC and amazing CC for us.

A few things to notice: I did not take any general mage feats, after much thinking I decided they really aren’t worth the cost, and the survivability return is low. Having more damage and more options in the end gives you far more survivability. Now onto playing your HoX:

5/5 Fiery Weapons: A suprisingly good feat, procs do more damage than my normal white hits, and probably increase my damage substantially.

1/1 Thundering Flames: It’ll get fixed, I swear!

Step 4: Cast Exultation of Xotli. The moment HVoX wears off, cast Molten Flesh. Everything dies, white swings and HFBs finish the group off quickly.

1/5 Spitfire: I picked this up because I heard report of it increasing the damage of your next attack by something like 25%. I haven’t seen this, but I had no where else to put this point, so I have it, sometimes I use it, but mostly filler.

Please help contribute to the list by replying age of conan gold with any corrections, missing information, additional info on the weapon and where to get it, or new weapons not on the list! If you are adding a new weapon, please be sure to include as much information as possible, so this guide can be as complete as we can make it! Please do not submit bows with ‘generated’ modifiers that are dropped from random monsters, it would be an impossible task to compile a list of all bow combinations that could occur with the random bonuses - let’s stick to ones that are ‘unique’.

* +3% Fatality Chance

* 95-159 Damage

* +0.8 Poison Damage (ranged)

* 63.8 DPS

Balthas’ Bow

=================================================

* +1% Fatality Chance

* 104-175 Damage

* +5 Bow Range Modifier

Crowfire can be found as a boss drop (blue) in the Sanctum of the Burning Souls, the first real group instance in the game. Its fatality boost and high DPS make it a great weapon even to level 50.

* 82-139 Damage

* +1.4 Unholy Damage (ranged)

* 55.6 DPS

Shrike

* 78-132 Damage

* +4.4 Dex

* +3.6 Dex

* +2% Fatality Chance

Availble only to people who pre-ordered from Amazon.com, this bow is the first (and one of the only) bows that gives a bonus to range. That and the other bonuses it provides make this bow something to use for many, many levels…assuming you have it!

* +3.3 Dex

* 55.8 DPS

* +1.2 Piercing Damage (ranged)

* +5 Bow Range Modifier

This is the bow you get as a quest reward for the ‘End Battle’ stage of the Destiny Quests in Tortage. It is the first good bow we receive; unfortunately there is no crossbow to be found until you venture out past the various capitol cities.

* 69-116 Damage

Arguably the best bow to have at level 30 (unless you have the Amazon Curved Bow), Balthas’ Bow can be had by doing the ‘Traitorous Dogs’ quest in the Border Range instance area.

Level 40

* 82-138 Damage

First, credit where it’s due - Arach created the first list regarding this topic, I’m merely taking the list and improving upon it.

* +0.6 Piercing Damage (ranged)

* +0.4 Poison Damage (Ranged)

Level 30

Swift-Talon Bow

Blasphemous Bow

Tabbot’s Hunting Bow

* +0.6 Piercing Damage (ranged)

————

Important: The DPS and Damage range numbers can be affected by both stances, buffs, and character level. The number I would like to post is the value you would see at the minimum level to use the item, without ANY stances or buffs. Thanks.

Tabbot’s bow can be found, predictably enough, by doing the quest received from Tabbot Tall-Wood in the Field of the Dead.

* +1 Piercing Damage (ranged)

Ramnyr - (31)

* +0.4 Cold Damage (ranged)

Another good early level bow, this can be found from the quest age of conan gold Weaponsmith Einion in the Clan Moragh Settlement (Connal’s Valley) gives you.

Snowfly

* +5 Dex

Level 20

* Chance on hit: Gelid Strike (19-28 Frost Damage)

* 56.7 DPS

Crowfire - (38)

* +1.4 Fire Damage (ranged)

Historical Perspective: A Reminder of what an Assassin is….

August 6th, 2008 by warhammergold

I believe there is a reason for warhammer gold this, and I applaud Funcom for having the guts to take such a stance.

How can we translate this to AoC? We’re in an environment surrounded by distractions. This can come in the form of resources, quest items, mobs, npcs, other players, or even real life events that pull us away from the keyboard. These are all activities which places your mark in the same historical scenario as those who have fallen in the past. Busy, unaware, and unsuspecting of the malicious intruder stalking them.

We can view this in the historical sense of political assassinations. We have the sniper fire, usually during a speech or event, that takes down the mark while they’re unaware or occupied with their surroundings. The same can go for the crowded room pistoleer, who leaps out of the crowd waving a firearm.

Historically, Assassins don’t declare their presence until they act. They don’t tell the mark that they’re going to be assassinated at such and such time, doing such and such things. The Assassin stacks the odds in their favor in order to achieve the best possible outcome. People who are seeking ‘honorable’ fights might be best served elsewhere, as this is probably not the role of the Assassin class.

We rely on distraction, deception, and devastating warhammer gold attacks.

There have been quite a number of posts/threads recently, with folks struggling to come to terms with what it means to be a member of the Assassin class. It’s true, we’re rogues, that is our Archetype. However, unlike the other two classes within the Rogue Archetype, we’re not very good at fighting toe to toe.

Think of every assassination you’ve ever heard of, dreamt, read, watched, or considered (I hope not, but it’s here anyways). What is the common theme? More than likely, it’s that your ‘mark’ or target, is otherwise occupied. By this I mean that they have no inkling about what is to transpire.

The common thread is that the mark doesn’t know what is going to happen until it’s already happened. That their ability to react to any given situation is hampered by the pace at which such event is unfolding.

This, in my opinion, is how Funcom intended the Assassin class to be played.

[Serenity] - PST PvP/PvE Raiding on Derketo - *Rerolls Welcome*

August 6th, 2008 by warhammergold

Our tentative raid schedule will be:

Tired of being ganked on the PvP servers and looking for something a little more laid back? We are not a leveling guild and you should not expect to be powerleveled, but since leveling in this game is so fast, you are welcome to come join us with the intention of raiding at level 80.

7-10pm PST Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Currently, we are accepting any class or level, however, this will change quickly in the future and we will be limiting initiates in order to maintain good class balance.

Serenity’s player city is located in Potain on the South side of the zone. Our T1 buildings are done and we are working on raising our T2 keep.

A little more about me - I am 34 years old and play with my wife (Sabin). I love raiding, but I strongly disagree with the way most end game raiding guilds are run. I believe that the primary factors in a guild’s raiding success are A) Finding good people that are able to work together, B) Organization and C) Consistency. Most hardcore raiding guilds warhammer gold spend far more time raiding than we will, but our ambitions are just as high. We plan on spending more time preparing and organizing for raids with less time trying to brute force our way through content via endless wiping. We all have a life outside of AOC, there is no reason it cannot be balanced with playing the game while still experiencing all that the game has to offer. We are not interested in recruiting people who will burn out in a month because they are playing 80 hours a week while their RL goes to hell. We are building our guild for the long haul and are looking for players whose philosophies reflect that.

Please visit our website to find out more information at http://www.serenityaoc.com or feel free to contact myself (Sark), Sabin or Pandorra in game if you have any questions.

Serenity is a friendly, mature, organized, low stress raiding guild. Our leaders have years of MMO experience including raid leadership in Everquest 2 and World of Warcraft but have age of conan gold experienced games from the guild member perspective as well. We are laid-back, down-to-earth players who like to have fun but also know how to get down to business when the moment calls. Our members understand the importance of respect and how to work as a team.

Juggernaut Tree

August 6th, 2008 by warhammergold

Stand Your Ground***

Toughness*****

Provides your teammates a 2nd chance to generate a vengeance counter when they get hit in combat. Helps to build up vengeance faster but vengeance already builds up fairly quickly. It’s a useful talent but it’s not vital or must have.

30% damage boost, -10% hate generation for 10-20 seconds with a 45 second cooldown (need to double check these numbers). Doesn’t affect skewer, storm strike or riposte. Would be a pretty solid talent if the activation wasn’t buggy. Performing other actions while or before activating the ability (basically anytime that the animation can’t play) will cause the cooldown to be consumed but no buff given.

Storm Blade***

Momentum****

Causes people struck by melee when Stand your Ground is active to have a chance to be knocked back. A very useful talent providing a very high chance to get knocked back. Good for PvP utility and also in PvE as another life saving move for you or your team.

This cooldown reducing feats are pretty much mandatory if you travel down the polearm tree at all.

Drive Them Back*****

High damage 2 hit combo that stuns when activated and provides a defense boost when executed. Has a 30/15 second cooldown I believe. A great staple combo for both PvP and PvE.

Provides a buff giving your attacks a chance to cause additional threat or act as a taunt. Great utility for tanking and almost a must have for PvE. Also requirement for important jugg talents.

Revenge**

Battle Cry*****

Titanic Smash**

It’s a high stamina 2 minute cooldown knockdown that does moderate damage. There’s really nothing to exciting about this talent and after 2 knockdowns already a third isn’t really that needed for most situations.

Boosts flashing arc’s damage. Flashing arcs is your main source of damage with a polearm. Passing this feat up when going with polearms would be a big mistake.

Improved Dulling Blow***

Great for both PvE and PvP. In PvE this can help to save someone mid battle and is also a great opener to ensure that you can get in some initial damage before the mob runs off. In PvP this gives you a massive advantage with the ability to get off some combos or a knock back easily. Well worth the 1 feet point.

Reduces the cooldown of overreach by 1 second per age of conan gold point. Effective for boosting your sustained DPS but with overreach no longer being an effective burst ability this may not be the best place for your points.

Bloody Vengeance*****

Boosts the damage of your counterstrike age of conan gold retaliation. Great for soloing groups of mobs or tanking.

Ardent Battle Cry****

Morale Boost**

Restores stamina over time for 10 seconds, 45 second cooldown. A must have when going down the juggernaut tree. This restores a very healthy amount of stamina (scales with level). It’s well over enough to perform a combo when maxed. Great when used with plexus strike if you run out of stamina.

Forced March***

Intervene****

Increases the damage from 1 handed weapons (edge and blunt). Just like all the other + damage feats this one helps but isn’t a huge contributor to our overall damage.

Brutal Overreach***

Takes your overreach and makes it better by increasing the critical chance. Even nerfed a critical overreach can still deal some decent damage. If you get Swift Overreach you need to get this. It’s no longer a must have talent for guardians though.

Reduces charge/stunning charge cooldown by 20 seconds for full cooldown 10 seconds for 1/2 cooldown of other charges. Boosts bleed damage on impale. Provides additional bonus damage to attack(s) following the charge. Great talent for PvP. Also useful for PvE but not completely mandatory or needed.

Chance on being hit to proc a 10% evasion buff. Lasts about 10-20 seconds after triggering. At 5 points will proc quite frequently. One of the better things in the tempest tree in my opinion 10% evasion is a healthy boost. Overall a pretty solid talent.

Relentless Assault****

Grants an additional stamina gain for the guardian and his group when plexus strike is used. Returns a much more modest amount of stamina, around and additional 1/4th of what you see with the base plexus strike. Not a bad talent for a little more stamina but generally guardians can already keep themselves topped off well enough with battle cry and plexus strike (before feats). It’s also in a very competitive spot in the tree.

3% invulnerabilities and health regen. A very solid starting talent for the juggernaut tree. It’s a feat that may even find its way into some tempest builds.

Another weapon damage increase feat. This time for polearms. Just like the others it’s a decent boost but nothing amazing.

Bleeding Dulling Blow***

Redoubt****

Readiness*****

Weapon Master***

Brutal Sweeps****

You’re a tank not a DPS. If you’re really going to be DPSing and want reduced aggro then here you go. Otherwise a pretty useless talent.

2/3/5% damage increase for anyone effected by battle cry. Don’t feel bad if you skip this for something else but it is a very good talent. 5% damage for 15 seconds every 45 is pretty good and this can really help your overreach or other combos to reach their full damage potential.

Boosts the critical chance of flashing arcs. If your flashing arcs does not crit the damage is does is rather forgettable. If you’re going polearms you pretty much need this feat.

Provides an evade boost to your dulling blow. If you’re serious about tanking this is a good talent to look into. Dulling blow is already an important part of an aggro generating rotation so getting an extra shielding bonus is always nice. Not essential for tanking and relatively useless in other situations though.

Remove speed penalty of Stand Your Ground. Must have if you go Stand your Ground. You need it both for Drive them Back and to make Stand Your Ground actually beneficial to your team.

Adds a bleed effect to the retaliation of guard. Again this is much less significant than the counterstrike equivalent because guard does not always retaliate.

Strike and Guard*****

Bleeding Counterstrike****

Has a 2 Minute cooldown. For a one point investment this ability provides you with additional immunities (4%) and damage (20%) for a short while. Great for spiking damage and a little extra tanking power. Probably one of our only good 41 point talents.

For one point the reduction to cooldown of all abilities is well worth it. the -6 seconds on shield bash cooldown is almost enough to make this worth the feat point alone.

Savage Counterstrike****

Not quite as effective since the last patch this ability still provides some additional bleed damage on dulling blow making it effective for tanking and leveling.

Boosts retaliation damage from guard by 20/25/30/35/45%. The retaliation from guard is much less significant than what we get from counterstrike as it doesn’t proc every hit, making this a talent easily passed up.

Tempest Tree

Juggernaut****

Stunning Charge*****

Swift Overreach**

Gives you an instant combo (no lead up attacks) dealing damage that scales with the # of vengeance counters you have on you at. Cooldown is also reduced with additional counters. In PvE you can make use of this only when you can’t hold aggro properly or in any situation with an off tank. In group PvP this ability is what is going to cause people to target guardians. This is probably the most important feat points you will spend if you do group pvp.

Power Sweeps****

Disarming Aggression**

Pole Arm Mastery***

Bleeding Revenge**

Sacrifice***

Improved Shield Bash***

Adds a snare to shield bash. Chances are if you knock a mob down with shield bash and don’t have aggro by time it gets back up then the extra snare isn’t going to help. In PvP this is a pretty useful talent though. The reason I gave it 3 stars is because the snare duration (6 to 10 seconds I believe) starts when you knock down an opponent so most of it is wasted.

Stand Off*

Adds a chance to proc additional damage when striking with any weapon in combat. At 5 points it’s about 75% damage of a normal swing and procs 20-30% of the time. A good solid talent for sustained dps but does nothing to help with burst dps. In PvP the additional DPS is always nice but it’s not going to help you spike down people.

Provides 25 knockback resistance to your group. It seems like a nice amount for the other people in your group but by itself the buff isn’t huge.

Provides a pretty good damage bleed with your counterstrike. Once again a good talent for leveling or tanking.
